Archive for September, 2008Do you dig dragons? Brisingr, the third book in the series that began with Eragon, is just about to jump into your local bookshop and library.
The countdown is on. See the amazing Brisingr website. Oh, and you could win $10,000. You might have noticed things have been a little quite around here lately. Sorry about that but I think our excuse is a good one. Let’s see. Over the past three months we have been preparing a toolkit, a booklet, on how to run your own Boys, Blokes, Books and Bytes program. The toolkit will draw extensively on the work we have done over the past two years. A copy of the toolkit, along with a cool Heath McKenzie poster, will be mailed to all Victorian schools in October. The toolkit will be launched at the State Library of Victoria on Thursday 9 October at 5.30pm. A Very Special Guest, can’t say just yet, will be here to launch the toolkit. And then…we will be visiting these nine locations across Victoria to talk about how schools and libraries. For more details contact Erin Ritchie, project coordinator on 03 8664 7281. These after-school sessions are a great opportunity for schools, public libraries and parents to find out more about creating your own BBBB project.
