I live in a small country town called Garfield, it has a really good football club, a great out door swimming pool, and a good skate park the people are really friendly. It has lots off farms and lots of wildlife. I have lived in the area for the last seven years and wouldn’t live any where else.

DROUIN – The town is supposedly named after a Frenchman who invented a chlorination process for the extraction of gold.
I think Drouin is best known for its footballers.

The small town of Garfield is nestled in Gippsland. It was named after a US President, James Garfield who was assassinated in his first year of office in 1881. It wasn’t until 1887 when the town was renamed. Previously named Cannibal Creek after an agistment lease taken out in 1845.

I love Garfield because it is so sleepy. The people are friendly and kind. Everyone knows everyone and I feel safe here. I play in the best football team known around as The Stars. The dairy farms in the swamp are luscious and green making it an easy place to relax.
